Friends of India

General Information:

There are about 67,000 Indian living under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt which covers four states of Germany i.e. Hesse, Rheinland Palatinate, Saarland and North Rhine Westphalia. There are about 50 different Indian associations representing different facets of society. The Consulate has brought all these associations under an umbrella of “Friends of India” (FOI). FOI is an initiative launched by the Consulate in 2014 to unite the Indian community and provide them a common platform for dialogue and interaction. Under this initiative, the Consulate has organized several meetings, programmes and activities including “INDIA FEST”. For better coordination with the Indian community and the smooth functioning of FOI, the Consulate has nominated coordinators who work closely with the Consulate. The coordinators have created a separate Facebook page that unites all the associations in the area and has become a common link among the community.
