Mr. Raveesh Kumar assumed charge as the new Consul General of India in Frankfurt on September 2, 2013. Born in 1971, Mr. Raveesh Kumar did his schooling at the Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in History from Hansraj College, Delhi University.Furthermore, he has also attended programmes at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Indian Institute of Mass Communications, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad and the National Defence University, Washington. Mr. Raveesh Kumar joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995 and started his career at the Indian Mission in Jakarta. This was followed by postings in Thimpu and London. During his stint in Delhi, he looked after the East Asia desk. Prior to assuming his current assignment, he was the Deputy Chief of Mission in Jakarta from September 2010 to August 2013. Mr. Raveesh Kumar is a fluent speaker of Bahasa Indonesia. He is married to Ranjana Raveesh, and has two sons, aged 14 and 9.
