Q. How long does it take to issue visa?
A. In most cases visas are issued on the same day by us.
However in some cases it takes longer. This ofcourse excludes time taken by postal
services if the application is submitted by Post.
Q. What is the visa fee?
A. There are different fees for different type of visa.

Q. How can I pay fees for visa?
A. The visa fee can be paid through cash at the counter of
the IGCS, Frankfurt where the forms can also be submitted. Fees for postal applications
can be paid through the bank Bank : Deutsche Bank AG, Koln Kontonummer : 1093327

Q. Do I need to come physically to Consulate for obtaining
visa?
A. No. The visa services have been outsourced to the IGCS
who may be contacted. Their website is www.igcsvisa.de
. The visa can be personally obtained by applying at their counter and also through Post.
In addition, visa camps in KÖLN ( 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday) and ESSEN (1st Tuesday) are
held.

Q. What are timings of IGCS?
A. Timing for submission of application forms - 9:00AM to
11:30AM Timing for collection of documents - 4:00 PM to 5.00 PM

Q. What are timings of Visa Camps?
A. Acceptance of applications - 0900 to 1300 hrs. Delivery
of visas - 1600 to 1700 hrs.
Q. We need Visa for our family of four. Do we all need to
come or one member can visit IGCS office with the documents?
A. Any member of a family can submit and receive documents
for all members of the family. However, each member would need to sign the applications
himself / herself
Q. I am unable to visit IGCS office. Is it possible to
authorise someone on my behalf to submit and collect the documents?
A. Yes. It is possible. However, the applicant must sign
the Visa application form himself/herself. The person submitting and collecting documents
on behalf of someone else must have a Power of Attorney signed by the applicant (s).
Q. I live in Stuttgart. How can I obtain visa for India?
A. CGI Frankfurt issues visa for people living in the four
States of Germany under its Consular jurisdiction i.e. (1) Hessen (2) North Rhine -
Westphalia (3) Rhineland-Palatinate and (4) Saarland. Persons from other parts of Germany
should apply for visa to their respective Indian Consulates/Indian Embassy. Details

. Since Stuttgart falls under the jurisdiction of CGI, Munich, you may apply there.
Q. I paid fees for my visa but the same was not issued to
me. What is the procedure for refund of my fee? I paid visa fee for five years tourist
visa but was issued only one year tourist visa. What about refund of difference in fees?
A. Kindly note that as a general rule visa fee, once paid,
is not refundable. It is the sovereign right of the concerned country to grant or deny the
visa or issue a visa for appropriate duration. However, you may kindly contact IGCS and
the Consulate giving details like date of application, date of return of passport, bank
details etc. All such cases will be decided on merit. |
