Information for On-Line NRI Passport Applicants

NRI Passport Applicants can apply for Passport Services using Online Registration.

Only the residents falling under the jurisdiction of the respective Missions are eligible to apply on-line.

Use Internet Explorer(5.x & Above) for doing online registration.

Please write/print fields in BLOCK LETTERS

Signature/Thumb impression should be confined in the prescribed box.

Incase of minor applicants, parents should NOT sign in the box.

Please CLICK HERE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION OF PASSPORT APPLICATION (after filling this form, you will have to save and submit the print out of the application along with the necessary documents. There are still some columns in the application form which you will have to fill by hand.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Consulate will accept only Passport applications which are already registered online. No hand written passport application form will be accepted after 15th June 2010.

Please note: The Consulate General of India, Frankfurt no longer issues hand written passports.

Requirements for issue/Renewal of passport

Prescribed application form after online registration.

3 recent passport size photographs. Please click for standards of acceptable photographs

Original passport.

Copy of residence permit/visa, if it is not endorsed on the passport.

NOTE: Please note that a passport may be re-issued, one year before expiry of current validity of passport.

2.Requirements for issue of duplicate passport in lieu of lost or damaged passport:

Prescribed application form after online registration.

5 recent passport size photographs.

Photocopy of the lost passport and the passport in original in case of damaged passport.

Police report, in original, stating loss of passport with translated copy of the Police report.

Proof of residence/visa in Germany.

An affidavit regarding loss of passport/damaged passport.

A written statement explaining circumstances, in which the passport was lost/damaged

3.Requirements for issue of new passport in respect of minors (less than 15 years of age)

Prescribed application form after online registration.

Birth certificate in original along with a copy.

Original passports of parents along with copies

Proof of stay.

An affidavit signed by both parents stating their No objection and that they have not applied for any other nationality for the child.

Form L should be filled up for registration of birth.

(NOTE: This passport will be valid for five years.)

4.Requirements for replacement of booklet due to change of name after marriage, re-marriage or divorce:

Prescribed application form after online registration.

Original passport.

3 recent passport size photographs. standards of acceptable photographs

Marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriages attested by Consular Section in Patiala House, New Delhi. Or joint sworn affidavit with joint photograph.

Copy of spouse's passport.

Copy of residence permit/visa if it is not endorsed on the passport.

In respect of change of name not falling in this category, the new name must be published in a newspaper, both in Germany and in India in the area of one's residence and the newspaper cuttings, in original, must be submitted along with the application form.

Applicant is required to sign an affidavit in the presence of Consular Officer.

5. Requirements for replacement of booklet due to change in appearance:

Copy of residence permit/visa if not endorsed in the passport.

6. Other miscellaneous services:

Change of address: Applicants to furnish documentary proof like letter from bankers in India, etc.

Inclusion of spouse name: Applicants to furnish attested copy of marriage certificate or joint sworn affidavit.

Endorsement of status of Emigration (ECNR)
