The Know India Programme

 

The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs will be conducting 3 Know India Programmes (KIP) in the year 2012-2013. The details of are as follows.

2. Guidelines and application form for these programmes are available at MOIA’s website: http://moia.gov.in  Exact dates for these programmes will be conveyed a month before their commencement.

3. The following may be noted in this regard: 

    a) This programme is open only for the diaspora youth in the age group of    18- 26 years.  NRIs are not eligible to apply for this programme.

    b)  It is open to PIOs from all over the world.

   c) Only those nominations may be forwarded to this Ministry which are in accordance with the prescribed guidelines. Soft copy of the applications for the KIPs may be sent to Under Secretary (DS - I), Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Akbar Bhawan, New Delhi – 110011; e-mail: e-mail: usds2@moia.nic.in;fax: (011) 24197942. The application form in original may be subsequently sent by diplomatic bag/ Speed post to Under Secretary (DS - I).     

    d) Nominations are required to be duly recommended by Head of Mission/Head of Post in the application form, in the specific coloumn provided for this purpose.

   e) Nominations should be sent to reach us by the prescribed last date. Nominations received in the Ministry after the prescribed last date will not be considered.

   f)  List of selected applicants will be communicated a month before the commencement of the programme.

   g)  Selected participants would be required to purchase air ticket for their journey from the country of residence to India and back, as per the schedule prescribed by the Ministry. Concerned Indian Mission/Post would reimburse 90% (ninety percent) of the total cost of air ticket, at lowest economy excursion fare, to the participants on their successful completion of the programme.
